February 08 The contrasts of our homeJohn and I went for a drive today - we live in a really nice part of the world and today was a lovely drive. As we drove along I took some photos of the green valleys we were driving through.
It was about 30 odd degrees and we went out in Kermit - out to Dayborough, along Mt Mee Road and onto Woodford where we had a cup of coffee in the Woodford Pub. It is really worth thinking of going back to visit for a meal.
While Victoria burns, NSW and South Australia is experiencing a heatwave. We came home to hear 66 people have died today and the fires in Victoria are probably worse than the Ash Wednesday fires of years ago.
Meanwhile Qld north of Mackay is flooded and expecting more rain - a crocodile has taken a teenager, one crocodile swam past a second story window and one was mistaken for a speed bump.
We live in a lucky country and have some amazing priviledges for doing so - safety, security, surety. But we do pay an amazing price for this.
